It’s time for one of the most exciting events of the summer! This weekend, bring your little anglers to the annual Kids Surf Fishing Tournament, proudly sponsored by the Strathmere Fishing and Environmental Club (SFEC). The event is set to take place on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at the beautiful Prescott Street Beach in Strathmere, NJ.
Event Details:
Registration: Starts at 8:00 AM at Prescott Street Beach.
Fishing: Runs from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
Location: Prescott Street Beach, Strathmere, NJ.
This fun-filled event is open to all kids aged 17 and under. It’s the perfect opportunity to introduce your children to the joys of fishing in a friendly, community-focused environment.
What to Bring:
Rod, Reel & Equipment: Make sure your child is equipped with their fishing gear. Remember, no round or drop weights—pyramid weights only!
Footwear: For safety reasons, no bare feet allowed. Make sure your child is wearing appropriate shoes.
Freebies and Fun:
Each participating child will receive free bait, a T-shirt, hot dogs, and drinks—all while supplies last. It’s a fantastic way to make sure everyone has a great time, whether they’re reeling in the big one or just enjoying a day at the beach.
Plus, Fishbites will be handed out to all kids. For those who prefer live bait, it’s available for purchase at local tackle shops like Boulevard Bait, Sea Isle Bait, or Whale Creek Marina.
Important Note:
Children under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult. This ensures everyone stays safe and has a wonderful time during the event.
